Congratulations to Matthew Herbert who’s project ‘One Pig’ has been shortlisted in the Sonic Art category of the 2012 BASCA awards. The avante-guarde musician recorded the sounds from a pig and its surroundings to tell a story of an anonymous farm animal’s journey from birth to plate. One Pig is a collection of squeals, oinks and the sounds of a wind instrument using pigs blood, as well as other farmyard recordings, cleverly moulded together in order to produce sophisticated electronica.

Martin Rossiter’s new album ‘The Defenestration of St Martin’, on release the 26th November, has had great reviews so far… A Mojo write up describes the lead singer of British indie band Gene as playing “beautifully, touchingly and sometimes exhaustedly” while Q says of the new album “it’s one for the fierce-hearted and, as such, highly recommended.”

Sway’s new track with Mr Hudson ‘Charge’ will be available to download from the 2nd of December. ‘Charge’ has an underground electric feel, samples Crystal Waters’ ‘Gypsy Woman’ and  serves as the third single from Sway’s upcoming album The Deliverance, out in Spring 2013. The high octane video for the song, skillfully directed by Amit & Naroop, shows Sway and Mr Hudson in an abandoned warehouse, fitting perfectly with the songs energy. It even features a cameo performance from Ed Sheeran. Check it out here!

Michael Chapman’s ‘Pachyderm’ has been ranked #10 in the 43rd Uncut Playlist of 2012. Out for release on 12th November, ‘Pachyderm’ showcases Chapman’s personal and straightforward style but also focuses more on improvisation than he’s done so before. Listen to a preview of the album here.
