Matthew Herbert is set to have a very busy 2014!

Matthew’s opera ‘The Crackle’ runs at the Royal Opera House this April! The Pioneering sound artist has adapted the Faust legend for The Royal Opera in the Linbury Studio Theatre. The opera is about a music teacher and armchair academic dreams of brilliance. When a stranger offers him powerful technology he immediately accepts – but his hasty decision will have horrifying consequences. You can purchase tickets here.

Matthew has also written the music for ‘Machinal’ which opened on Broadway in January! Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall (Vicky, Christina, Barcelona) stars in this gripping drama examines the life of housewife Helen who is stuck in an unhappy marriage with little room to live her life the way she had hoped. Pushed to the edge, she eventually rebels against the conventions her marriage by having an affair with a younger man, an affair which sparks off her determination to end the relationship with her husband in the most severe way. ‘Machinal’ is on in NYC until 2nd March.
