Martin Phipps wins Ivor Novello Award for The Virgin Queen
Congratulations to Martin Phipps and BDi and a few words from BDi's Managing Director, Sarah Liversedge:
24th May 2007 was a great day for BDi composer, Martin Phipps and for BDi Music.....Martin won the TV Soundtrack category of the Ivors for his score, The Virgin Queen, which broadcast on BBC2 last year (2006). An outstanding score which deservedly won the Ivor Novello Award along with the likes of Elton John, Quincy Jones, FatBoy Slim and Peter Gabriel. This achievement is a milestone for BDi Music as we aren't even 3 years old yet as a company. Success seems to be on BDi's side at the moment..back in November 2006, Martin and The Virgin Queen score also won a Royal Television Society Award for Best TV Soundtrack.
BDi strives to support, nurture and develop it's signed creative talent. We are very proud to look after the creme de la creme of TV /Film and Ad composers along with diverse and enthusiastic songwriters. We are always keeping a 'BDi' out for fresh talent.
Aside to the day to day commissions and songs which our composers work on,we aim to exploit our writers' work as far as possible with releases and by way of syncs onto film, tv and adverts.
The backbone of the business is ensuring the monitoring, collection and payment of our writers' music royalties - BDi has found the perfect partner for this worldwide service, the reputable, Bucks Music, who have proved to be a second to none support for BDi. Additionally, Cube Soundtracks (a label within Bucks Group) released The Virgin Queen album featuring Martin's music from the series, sung by the Medieval Baebes.
So, onwards and upwards......
