Managing Director

Managing Director: Simon Platz

Simon Platz graduated from Sussex University in 1979. Various jobs followed from bus driver, publican, BBC scene shifter to managing Eddie Edwards after the 1988 winter Olympics!

Simon joined the family firm of Essex Music in 1984. Essex had been founded by Simon’s father David in the 1950’s. The Essex catalogue of titles by the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Joe Cocker from the backbone to Bucks Music Group’s current operation. Essex was demerged soon after Simon joined. Simon’s own company Bucks Music Group Limited now administers the family company and is very active in acquiring further rights. He is a Director of the Music Publishers Association ‚PRS For Music, PMLL and a Trustee of Heart N Soul, a disability arts group based at the Albany in Deptford. He is also a Trustee of the PRS Foundation.

Office Support

PA to Simon Platz/Head of Internal Affairs: Jo Hauxwell

Having grown up between Newcastle, Africa and Boarding School, Jo put a few years travelling under her belt before moving to London. Her background was more medical than musical but, after a very laid back interview 15 years ago she began working at Bucks Music Group as Personal Assistant to Simon Platz. With a couple of years off to produce a new generation her mothering skills are now put to great use in the office as Head of Internal Affairs to the Bucks family.

Reception/Admin Assistant: Lydia Pask

Although having a past in charitable work, coming from a very creative and musical background, Lydia has grown up with a huge love for music across all genres and loves that she gets to work for Bucks along with people who share the same love for music. In her spare time Lydia enjoys photography and travelling.

Creative A&R

Director Creative A&R: Sarah Liversedge Platz

Sarah Liversedge is Director of A&R at Bucks Music Group; She steers the creative team and directs efforts to attract, develop and sign new talent. Bucks Music is well known for its reputable catalogue dating back to the 50s to include, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, TRex. More recently Bucks have enjoyed chart success with Ed Sheeran, Example, Rudimental, DJ Fresh, Leona Lewis, Professor Green, James Blunt.…to name but a few. We are proud to have recently signed Artist/Producerts, iLL Blu [Island Records], One Bit Productions, The Heavytrackerz, Dom McAllister and Jack Tinner.

Sarah studied music composition at Bath Spa University acquiring a First Class degree in Composition. Sarah’s professional career started in media, her first proper job was she as a Floor Manager for BBC Television. She then side-stepped into a TV Researcher role for BBC and after 2 years in this position was promoted to Programme Liaison Executive for BBCWW Music, the commercial arm of the BBC. In 2000, Sarah was appointed Deputy Head of Music Publishing at BBC WW Music, followed by Head of Music in 2003/4. In this role, Sarah played a major part in developing and expanding what became a multimillion pound business and one of the leading media music publishing companies in the World. She has been a member of the PRS Media Committee for the last 10 years and she sits on the Pop Publishers Committee, as part of the Music Publisher’s Association. Sarah was also Board Director for 10 years for Heart ‘n Soul, one of the UK’s leading charitable arts organisations for people with learning disabilities. Sarah’s extensive experience within the music and media industry has provided her with strong relations in Film, TV and Radio production companies and with producers, directors, agents, managers, publishers, labels, media composers and songwriters.

Creative PA to Director A&R: Rhiannon Bramley

Having studied English Literature and German Studies at The University of Birmingham, Rhiannon graduated in 2014 with a desire to work in a creative industry. A keen musician from a young age, playing piano, guitar and flute, Rhiannon always knew she had a passion for music and continued to write music at her parent’s house in Wales whilst earning money as a Barista. In October 2014 Rhiannon started working for Bounce Publishing, a small, independent music publishing company directed by Charlotte Church. She worked as a Personal Assistant and Marketing Assistant, using her developed writing skills. Due to the size of the company, Rhiannon quickly got involved with the licencing and sync departments and helped the Licensing Manager pitch for briefs. She also worked for Morgan-Bell Management as an Assistant Artist Manager where she co-managed Kizzy Crawford, Sion Russell Jones and Paper Aeroplanes. Taking care of the catalogue and managing press campaigns, she also accompanied Kizzy Crawford and Sion Russell Jones on a trip to Nuremberg in Germany, acting as a Tour Manager as well as a German interpreter. In January 2016 Rhiannon moved to London and started working for BDi Music, covering for Henry Prince (Sarah’s Creative PA) for one month. After the month ended, Rhiannon stayed to become a permanent member of staff as Sarah’s second PA. Taking on administrative duties, Rhiannon hopes to become more involved with the creative aspects and hone her skills and interests within the industry.

Creative A&R Manager: Harri Davies

Harri first cut his teeth in the music business as an engineer and producer at independent production house Chewatribe in 2003, developing and working with artists and songwriters across a number of London studios, including Miloco, and the now defunct Townhouse and Overtones Studios.

In 2008, Harri graduated from Thames Valley University with a Music Technology Specialist degree. It was during this time that music publishing quickly became of interest, leading Harri to join Bucks as part of the Copyright team where he stayed for 3 years, honing his knowledge of publishing before taking more of a creative role within the A&R team, looking after a number of label publishing clients including; Rekids, D-Style, Black Acre, Shogun Audio, Roger Sanchez’ Stealth Records, Duffnote, True Playaz, and Global Underground.

In 2013 Harri was appointed A&R Manager, where he now identifies and signs new talent, places songs and initiates writer collaborations, as well as providing sound creative advice for writer direction, sample clearance and mediating between songwriters to resolve split disputes.

Creative A&R Consultant: Flash Taylor

Flash Taylor has worked in music publishing for the last 12 years. He started his music publishing career at Zomba Music and then moved on to work for Sony ATV working with many different songwriters and artists across a multitude of stylistic genres including Razorlight, James Morrison and The Ting Tings. Flash has worked for both the ‘majors’ and the ‘indie’ sector moving on from Sony ATV a few years ago to work for Perfect Songs as A&R Manager. Flash recently joined the Bucks A&R team as A&R Consultant to work with Bucks’ existing roster and to help discover future talent.

Head of Recordings: Ronen Guha

With a BSc (Hons) in Computer Studies with Human Factors under his belt Ronen started working for Bucks Music Group in the royalties department, and over the years has worked in licensing, music publishing A&R, sample clearances and exploitation. In 2001 he launched the companies soundtrack label CUBE SOUNDTRACKS (‘Bend It Like Beckham’; ‘Dirty Pretty Things’; ‘Grand Theft Parsons’) and since 2007 has managed all the company’s master recordings. These include a significant heritage catalogue which the company owns, and a number of heritage and contemporary catalogues which Bucks administers.

Digital Manager: Cara Sly-Platz

After spending 5 years in digital marketing and promotions for various bars and clubs to include Barfly, Proud Gallery and Scala, Cara Sly-Platz decided to start designing and building websites. She officially joined Bucks in January 2013 where she looks after the digital aspects of the company including maintaining and improving the company websites.

Creative Sync & Licensing

Head of Creative Sync & Licensing: Jonathan Tester

Jonathan studied Business Studies and European Philosophy/Literature at Anglia Ruskin University and whilst in his final year wrote a dissertation on music in advertising titled ‘Darling, They’re Playing Our Advert. It was whilst researching this subject that Jonathan met with The Soundlounge (formerly Songseekers International) and upon finishing University, Jonathan was offered an internship and was soon promoted to the position of Licensing Manager and was responsible for negotiating music rights for campaigns including GO! Airlines, Adidas, Hugo Boss, KFC, Guinness and Ford and after 2 years was made Creative Licencing Director. In 2002 Jonathan joined Bucks Music Group to run the Sync Department and work creatively placing the catalogue into Film/TV/Commercials/Computer Games and Digital Media.

Jonathan has been a speaker at various industry events including Midem, In The City, Sensoria Pro, The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Norwich Sound & Vision and has also given talks on Sync and music publishing for students at Westminster University, Acton College of Music, UCL and Northbrook College. For the past 8 years he has spoken on the subject of Sync as part of the MPA/MMF training program. In 2012, on behalf of Bucks, a placement by Jonathan won ‘Best Sync in Film’ at the inaugural Music & Sound Awards for ‘It Could Have Been Better’ – Joan Armatrading in the film Kill List.

Senior Creative Sync & Licensing Manager: Angus Fulton

Having graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Philosophy, Angus joined the Warner/Chappell Music sync team as an intern. Eight years later, and having progressed to the position of Creative & Licensing Manager, he jumped at the opportunity of joining the team at Bucks Music Group as Senior Licensing Manager, focusing on advertising and film.

Creative Sync & Licensing Exec: Tom Frank

Tom began his journey into the industry by studying guitar at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), completing a BA (Hons) degree in Professional Musicianship in 2013. Freshly graduated, Tom joined bespoke music and audio production outfit Soft Light City in a marketing and producer role where he worked with leading international advertising agencies and production houses on campaigns for many major brands and companies such as Rolex and Google. Tom was soon drawn to the world of sync and shortly after was offered an internship in the sync & licensing department at [PIAS] in 2015, working on a catalogue that included alt-J, Flume and Editors to name a few. Excited by the prospect of working for a music publisher with such a rich heritage and consistent ability to find new talent, Tom joined Bucks Music Group in 2016 to work on creative sync opportunities and placements for the catalogue with a focus on TV and Computer Games.

Creative Sync & Licensing Exec: Fahima Jan
Bespoke Media Co-Ordinator: Holly Manners

Holly joined Bucks Music in late 2016 as their dedicated Bespoke Media Co-Ordinator. Previous to this, she was a Music Supervisor at Soho Music where she worked across creative research, licensing and bespoke compositions for high profile agencies and brands such as AMV/BBDO, VCCP, Guinness, Nike, etc.

She holds a BA(Hons) in Music from the University of Oxford, where she was also a Choral Scholar. After University, she spent a year interning across the industry, including working in the sync departments of Endemol Shine and Universal Records.

Holly is also a freelance journalist for and writes regularly for Line Of Best Fit and The Most Radicalist. Outside of work, Holly is a sub-par drummer, keen Middlesbrough FC supporter, and volunteers weekly at Shelter From The Storm.

Creative Sync & Licensing Assistant: Charlotte Robson

Although classically trained in the Piano and Violin, Charlotte has always been interested in the aspects of music that lie behind performance. She therefore decided to do a degree in Music Technology at Lancaster University focusing on studio recording, production and composition. Out of university she got an internship at music publishing company Manners McDade, and it was here where her interest in sync quickly grew. She joins Bucks Music Group’s Creative Sync department and is excited to see where this fantastic experience takes her!

Business Affairs

Head of Business Affairs: Sheila Shayegan

After graduating from the University of British Columbia as an English major, Sheila decided to take a year out before continuing with her post graduate degree in law. Her best laid plans went slightly awry when she got her start in the industry and decided that she wasn’t going to look back. Happily from there, she went on to work at Warner/Chappell Music where she completed her LPC and qualified in house until the opportunity of working for Bucks presented itself. Just as before, she’s never looked back and is delighted that she’s part of a wonderful home in Bucks.

Head of Copyright: Shaun Hendry

Shaun has taken a fairly circuitous route in publishing via the PRS, Warner Chappell, Zomba (twice) and BMG (twice) before eventually finding his home at Bucks Music Group. Primarily overseeing the Copyright side of things as Head of Copyright, Shaun can often be found dabbling in most areas of Bucks’ operations to a greater or lesser extent. His knowledge of the Bucks catalogue, his passion and hard work + attention to detail are invaluable to the Bucks team.

In his spare time, Shaun works closely with underprivileged musicians via Vacilando ’68/The Orchestra Pit and their monthly musical happening ‘Scaledown’. Shaun has no formal musical training… but, he can do a mean Steve Marriott impersonation (without the soulful bits).

Copyright Manager: Jamie Harper

Jamie started out in the music industry as a runner at the Matrix Complex in Parson’s Green, he then spent 4 years as a Copyright and Royalties Assistant at Hornall Brothers Music where he learnt the ins and outs of music publishing and the complexities of music rights across all media formats. Jamie is a new member of the Bucks team, joining in July 2013 as Copyright Manager — he deals with copyright enquiries, registrations, disputes and query resolutions.

In the evening and at weekends, you’re most likely to find him chilling at home with his guitar or looking up his next travel destination.

Copyright Assistant: Matthew Clifford

Matt joined Bucks Music Group in July 2014. He was inspired to work in Music Publishing after undertaking work experience at Bucks during his school holidays. After graduating with a degree in Music and Business Studies he was lucky enough to be offered a role as Copyright Assistant

He has an eclectic taste in music but particularly enjoys his jazz, especially jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane and B.B King.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing saxophone for the various bands he is part of.

Head Of Financial Affairs : Michael Attwood

After completing a degree at Nottingham University, Michael moved into the world of finance working for an Accountancy firm while training for an ACA qualification. After 4 years and lots of numbers the opportunity to move into the Music Industry presented itself. Having a keen interest in music, together with an incredible music taste ! it was a good move for Michael. He was learning from and replacing an industry stalwart who had been in the role for 32 years. As things stand 5 Years and 8 months later Michael has a very good understanding of the music industry and the role he undertakes on a day to day basis.

Finance Manager: Holly Elvin [Maternity Cover for Penny Munn]

Holly studied at Bristol University before deciding to work in Finance. Having worked previously in logistics and procurement companies she was inspired to move into a more creative industry and has worked in the accounts departments of a talent agency and a television production company. Holly started at Bucks in July 2016 where she is enjoying being part of the team, providing day to day Finance support and learning about the music industry.

Finance Consultant: John Attwood
Head Of Royalties and IT: Nicholina Lutterodt

Nicholina Lutterodt has been working for Bucks Music for nearly 20 years.
She started as Royalty Assistant and over time has progressed to Royalty and IT Manager.
She is an integral part of the team — she is the very important back room machinery behind the processing of client royalties and royalty payments.

Royalties Manager: Carly Snellgrove

Carly’s interest in music started at school, throughout this time taking up multiple instruments. This continued through to college where she studied music for 2 years. Completing college helped to confirm that music was the career path she wanted to continue on and made the decision to continue this through to University. In 2006 Carly enrolled at Bucks New University where she studied Music Industry Management & Studio production. Whilst at University learning about different areas of the industry she became more interested in publishing and in her 2nd year gained some work experience, this along with working part time for the PRS as a Music Researcher encouraged her to complete her dissertation on music publishing. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in 2009 she gained employment as an Assistant stage manager for a UK based artist Management Company, the primary role involved working with auditioning artists and assisting the running of shows up and down the country. After being in that role for 6 months she was offered a position at Bucks Music Group and began work for them in the start of 2010 where she has currently worked for the past 3 ½ years. To further continue her education she enrolled at Brunel University to study for a Post Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, and graduated in 2013.

PA to Managing Director: Natalie Pugh

Natalie was first introduced to BDi when she took on the role of Receptionist at Bucks Music Group, where she worked for several months. After a brief exit, working as PA elsewhere, Natalie was asked by Sarah Liversedge to come back as her Personal PA. Having worked as a Credit Manager of a small finance company, Natalie also joins BDi financial and accounting background. Natalie is looking forward to her transition into the music industry and to contributing to the success of the company

Standard Music Library

Library Manager: John Wraight

Before John was a shop assistant in an electrical shop (£1.02 per hour) and before he was a bottle-boxer-upper in a bottle factory (50 bottles per box), John terrified his primary school teachers by bringing in Black Sabbath’s ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’ to play at the Panda Pops-fuelled Christmas disco. Confounding early expectations, John would go on to receive a recommendation by government inspectors for his teaching of Moral Education; he’s not making this up. Moonlighting as a music ‘journalist’, he interviewed the likes of Jane Birkin, Massive Attack, Tricky, Primal Scream, Daft Punk, Underground Resistance, and got Ozzy Osbourne to review Jeff Mills’ ‘The Bells’. Before coming to work for Standard Music Library, John also spent several years working for independent record labels.

John owns signed copies of The Smiths’ ‘This Charming Man’, Manuel Gottsching’s ‘E2-E4’ and Sonia’s ‘We’ve got the Power’ (with ‘Gladiator Rap’ on the B side).

Bucks Music Management

Talent Manager: Anthony Hippsley

Anthony first cut his teeth as a session bass player for both touring and studio work. After a 6 year stint as a musician he turned his efforts towards management and landed a role at Big Life Management under the late great manager mogul Jazz Summers. There he learnt his craft working with the incredible producer roster who were writing and producing tracks for artists including; Tinie Tempah, Lily Allen, Wretch 32, Jess Glynne, Dizzy Rascal and George Ezra amongst many others. After working on the critically acclaimed no.1 platinum hit ‘Not Letting Go’ for producer Bless Beats he went on to assume the position of A+R and AM at Spilt Milk Management where he worked with some of the biggest and most prolific songwriters. After finding one of the UK’s hottest up and coming writer producers Jordan Riley, Anthony was appointed Talent Manager for the newly established joint venture Bucks Music Management. His role is to find, manage and help steer the careers of talent whilst working alongside publishers and labels to see there career goals achieved. He has since signed one of the UK’s top rock producers and mixers Dan Weller along with the exciting and brilliant producer duo The Artery to Bucks Management.
