Alex ‘Cores’ Hayes

Biography

Alex ‘Cores’ Hayes is a multi-talented record producer/engineer/songwriter. Hailing from Hackney, East London, he grew up surrounded by many styles of music and developed a love for hip-hop during his teens. That, combined with an obsession with studio gear, lead to his organic but hard-hitting production style.

A long time collaborator of fellow East Londoner Professor Green, Cores kick-started his career when he produced and featured on Green’s underground hit “Upper Clapton Dance”. He eventually went on to become the executive producer of Green’s three albums “Alive Till I’m Dead”, “At Your Inconvenience” and “Growing Up In Public”; earning him numerous writing, production and mix credits. He also became the MD of his band, with whom he toured extensively.

Cores’ experience on both sides of the glass, as well as on the road, has given him a unique understanding of the mind of an artist and how to best translate their ideas lyrically, technically and in production. His varied career has seen him work with Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Example, Labrinth, Pixie Lott, Paloma Faith, Maverick Sabre, Mr Probz and many more both established and developing artists across many genres.

Cores also developed The Hannah V Project (Sony) and is currently working on Professor Green’s third studio album.
