Dan Weller

Based in Liverpool, Dan Weller is a producer, writer and guitarist, well known for his work in rock and metal, but with credits as diverse as Children’s BBC to his name.

Dan began his musical career as guitarist, writer and producer in metal band SikTh. Renowned in the metal world and credited with spawning the microgenre ‘djent’, SikTh are often name-checked as an influence by bands the World over.

SikTh split in 2007 since when Dan has enjoyed building a successful career as a Producer, with credits including Young Guns (first 2 albums incl the single ‘Bones’, No.1 at US Rock radio and Kerrang’s ‘Best Track of 2012), Enter Shikari (including their award winning albums ‘A Flash Flood of Colour’ in 2012 and the current album The Mindsweep again hitting No 1 in the Independent Charts and being voted Independent Album of the Year 2015).

Always a fan of developing new talent Dan often appears as an inspirational guest lecturer at music colleges — and he continues to work with many up and coming unsigned bands; recently Southampton based DEAD who, following Dan’s production of their debut EP, have now signed to Raw Power Management and are hotly tipped.

Sikth re-formed for a one-off reunion gig in 2014 which led to a sold out tour – and this year the writing and production of a new mini album for release end of 2015 with tours in Russia, Japan and the UK. Alongside the Sikth writing Dan has been enjoying co-writing again across the genres with various collaborators including singer songwriter Nina Nesbitt, Various Cruelties’ Liam O’Donnell, Olivia Sebastienelli, bands Sonic Boom Six and In Colour.

Returning to his love of songwriting Dan has recently signed to Bucks Music and is looking forward to focussing on writing alongside his production work in 2016.
