The Afternoons

Biography

The Afternoons are five friends who initially bonded through their mutual love of curry and David Bowie. Their releases to date (five singles, two albums) have all been small-scale releases on Cardiff-based labels, but have been enthusiastically recieved in the UK and beyond (they sell an astonishing amount of records in Japan!).

In August 2004 they collaborated with Sup-Pop artist Rosie Thomas on Fading Fast, a song that has been described Rock Sound as “one of the most beautiful songs ever written”. It also was the Daily Star Single Of The Week.

Rocket Summer, their forthcoming release, is the band’s third album.

The Afternoons are:
* Richard Griffiths (vocals/ guitar)
* Peter Morgan (drums)
* Sarah Ellison (bass/ vocals)
* Paul Rapi (keyboards)
* Jason Huxley (guitar)
