Mary Anne Hobbs’ two-hour broadcast didn’t just document the nascent dubstep scene, it catalysed it in a way no radio show could in the changed landscape of 2022: it was ripped and distributed via filesharing sites, attendances at clubs boomed, the genre tipped from underground phenomenon to mainstream success. It still sounds explosively thrilling.
