In June 1967 Procol Harum became only the sixth recording act in the history of British popular music to reach the UK Number 1 spot with this their debut release.

After spending a few months writing songs, composer Gary Brooker and poet-lyricist Keith Reid formed Procol Harum in early 1967 and within a few weeks recorded this timeless classic at the legendary Olympic Studios, London.

Henry Scott-Irvine has produced a fascinating rockumentary revealing the story of the biggest and fastest selling British hit single of the 1960’s, as key members of Procol Harum discuss the song’s inception alongside those involved in the initial promotion of the song including the Pirate ‘Radio London’s’ original debut transmission of ‘Pale’ way back in April 1967.
