Bucks Sync Q&A: Erol Alkan

This week's Bucks Sync Spotlight focused on the brilliant Erol Alkan. Our sync team spoke to Erol and asked a few questions so you can get to know more about the person behind the music.

Q: What is your favourite TV or Film soundtrack and why?

" Giorgio Moroder's 'Midnight Express' soundtrack. I first heard 'The Chase' as a 9 year old kid and it left a mark on me which lasts today. It's combination of atmosphere, melody, use of technology and tension is - for me - one of the pinnacles of soundtrack composition "

Q: If you could only listen to one album, what would it be?

"I've spent my entire life working hard to make sure I'd never end up in such a difficult situation."

Q: Which artist/writer would you like to have in your support bubble?

"Can it be anybody? Dead or alive? If so, David Bowie. Maybe a little predictable but I'd choose hum as much for the fact that it's apparent he was great to be around, regardless of his wonderful talent."

Q: What is your favourite time of day to write?

"Some of the best ideas can hit me at any time, so I record them into my phone then work into them during work hours, I tend to work fast these days, and treat it like a 9-5."

Q: What TV have you binge-watched during lockdown?

"I'm currently slowly working my way thru Adam Curtis's excellent 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'."
