Bucks Sync Q&A: Life

This week's Bucks Sync Back on the Road Q&A focused on the fantastic LIFE. Our sync team spoke to Mez from the band and asked a few questions about all things LIVE, including first gig experiences, favourite venues and dream on-stage guests

Q: What was the first gig you ever went to?

"My brother (guitar) and myself grew-up around bombed-out folk festivals; our parents would take us every summer to all sorts of experiences, so these would have been my first gigs other than that key memories of early live shows pre-band life would be seeing Stiff Little Fingers when I was 15 years old with my uncle and then when I was 18 at college I went to see a lot of the New York bands when they toured such as LCD Soundsystem and The Strokes. "

Q: What is your favourite venue to play, and why?

"100 % The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. I have visited Hebden a lot over the years, as a punter/hiker and I’ve also been lucky enough to play the venue a few times. I remember a great show with Nadine Shah, it was snowing in the valley. The whole place is wonderful and the venue is everything. "

Q: Who would you most like to join you on stage?

"Jarvis Cocker. We’re playing Rockaway Beach in January 2022 and Jarvis is playing. I’m not saying he will join us on stage or know who we are but its gonna slap for sure! I have early memories commuting from Sheffield to Lincoln for Dad’s work and he would be playing Pulp full blast."

Q: Do you have any pre-show rituals?

"Hang with the band, they are my best mates. "

Q: Who would you most like to direct a live video of your shows?

"It would be mint to work with Dylan Southern who has captured some brilliant live work of LCD Soundsystem and Blur. He’s from Hornsea too so it keeps it local to our community which is important to us. His company is called 32. A local legend, just like us! "
