Procol Harum were a pioneering band who helped build the foundation for progressive rock with their single ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ being regarded as a seminal moment in pop history. The band reached Number 1 with this, their debut release, and it has since been recorded by more than 200 artists and was recently voted by radio listeners as one of the greatest songs of the twentieth century.
