Ghost Woman is the recording and performing moniker of Evan Uschenko, so far encompassing 2 full length albums (2022’s Ghost Woman and 2023’s Anne, If) plus a 3 track EP titled Lost Echo’s from 2021.
The project began a couple of years ago in the Canadian wilderness. The music we hear on Lost Echo’s and the debut self-titled album were recorded in a remote shack in the woods, which subsequently burned down not long after the recordings were completed. That mystery and danger seeps into the music and art that Uschenko creates. Ghost Woman’s sound is one which touches on the greats of psychedelic music’s past - The Byrds, Love, The Electric Prunes etc, as well as more modern day influences from Kyuss, Mark Lanegan and White Fence.
Ahead of Anne, If’s release in January 2023, the band have just finished touring with Dry Cleaning and Chad Vanagaalen, and head out on tour with Brutus across the UK very soon. Further shows are planned in March 2023.
