In Memory of Ozzy Osbourne: 1948 - 2025

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne. Our thoughts go out to Ozzy's family and friends.

On July 5th 2025, Osbourne and his fellow original Black Sabbath line up (Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward) reunited for the first time in 20 years for their final Back To The Beginning show in Ozzy’s hometown of Birmingham. Ozzy told the crowd of 42,000 'You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart'. The concert raised an incredible $190 million for Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Cure Parkinson’s.

Osbourne's journey from humble beginnings in Birmingham, to becoming a global cultural phenomenon, has left an ingrained mark on the music industry and beyond.

Ozzy Osbourne rose to prominence in the 1970s, after becoming a founding member of Black Sabbath in 1968. Built around Tony Iommi's guitar riffs, Geezer Butler's lyrics, Bill Ward's dark tempo drumbeats, and topped by Osbourne's eerie vocals, their debut album Black Sabbath and follow up Paranoid cemented their place in rock history.

Ozzy's impact on music is immeasurable. As the frontman of Black Sabbath, he helped create the foundation of heavy metal music. His legacy, both in Black Sabbath and as a solo artist, will remain a touchstone for future generations of musicians and fans to come.

Ozzy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006 and as a solo artist in 2024. He was also inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame both solo and with Black Sabbath in 2005; as well as being honoured with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Birmingham Walk of Stars. In 2015, he received the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. We are incredibly proud to represent Black Sabbath's copyrights.

Rest in peace Ozzy.
